Swedish construction company NCC has been selected to build a new road and tunnel between Breivika and Lerstad in Ålesund Municipality in Norway.

The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) has selected Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG - the German tunnelling specialist of Royal BAM Group nv - in joint venture NCC to build the 3.2km long Korsvägen phase of the West Link tunnel project in Gothenburg, Sweden. The agency made the announcement December 19.

Norwegian 4.8km rail tunnel awarded

NCC Construction Norway has been awarded a USD 170M contract to build a 4.8km rail tunnel between Larvik and Porsgrunn, about 150km southwest of Oslo. Work is scheduled to start in August 2012 and is expected to be completed in June 2016.
