NCC scoops Malmö tunnel contracts

Nordic contractor, NCC, has been awarded two phases of the Malmö City Tunnel for the Swedish Railway Administration.

The total value of the order is approximately US$217M. The Malmö Central Lower section features a ramp from a rail yard that becomes part of a tunnel section and also includes a station. The Hyllie - Vintries contract covers 4km of terracing and includes the construction of seven bridges, tunnels and a drainage system.

Both contracts are scheduled to commence in 2005.
