Washington state supreme court won't hear Brightwater lawsuit

The Washington State Supreme Court has declined to review a lower court ruling that affirmed King County is entitled to more than USD 129M in damages from a tunnelling contractor that defaulted on key contractual obligations as part of the Brightwater tunnel construction, the county announced September 12.

Fehmarnbelt conditional contracts signed

GERMANY/DENMARK - Conditional contracts have now been signed with the consortia chosen to construct the Fehmarnbelt fixed link. Following the previous announcement, pen has been put to paper. A slight delay caused the contracts to be signed at the end of May rather than mid-May, and this was due to a complaint being received.

The document, “Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 8810:2016 – Tunnel Design: Design of concrete segmental linings: Code of practice” was produced by the British Standards Institute (BSI) and lead technical author Arup.

DENMARK/GERMANY – The preferred bidders for the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link have been named. Client Femern said it had chosen a joint venture consisting of Vinci Construction Grands Projets, Per Aarsleff, Wayss & Freytag, Max Bögl, CFE, Bachy Solétance, BAM Infra, BAM International, Dredging International, and Cowi.
