UAE – A Strabag-led consortium will design, build and commission the Hatta pumped storage project (PSP) in Dubai. Strabag, along with partners Andritz of Austria and Ozkar Insaat of Turkey will build the EUR 340M scheme for the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority.

Strabag to renovate the south section of Budapest's M3 metro line

Hungary – The European construction group Strabag, through its Hungarian subsidiary, announced it has won the contract to rehabilitate the southern section of the M3 metro line. The contract value totals HUF 24.7bn (USD 89M). In addition to the renewal of five stations and passenger areas, the track structure is also being modernised. The work should be completed in 2020.

First Sirius Minerals TBM set to arrive

Great Britain – The first Herrenknecht TBM for the York Potash Project’s Mineral Transport System (MTS) tunnel is undergoing final checks at the factory is due to arrive in February 2019. The 23-mile (37km) tunnel and will be excavated in three separate drives by Austrian contractor Strabag. The first of which will stretch for 8 miles, with the remaining 15 coming following subsequent TBM launches in 2020.
