Aecom awarded major Hong Kong sewage cavern project

HONG KONG Aecom has been awarded a USD 130M contract to design Asia’s largest ever cavern-based sewage treatment works. The cavern will accommodate the relocated Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works (STSTW). The Drainage Services Department of Hong Kong’s government awarded the contract.

USA - Aecom announced on 17 October that it had completed the USD 6bn acquisition of URS Corporation. Stock issuance proposals were accepted at each company’s respective stockholder meetings on 16 October.

AECOM to acquire URS

Aecom and URS Corporation announced on July 13 the execution of a definitive agreement under which Aecom will acquire all outstanding shares of URS for a combination of cash and stock valued at approximately USD 4bn or USD 56.31 per URS share, based on the AECOM closing share price as of July 11, 2014. Including the assumption of URS debt, the total enterprise value of the transaction is approximately USD 6bn.

Aecom has been awarded an approximately USD 13M consultancy contract for the design and an estimated USD 103M contract for the construction supervision of the Tseung Kwan O ­ Lam Tin (TKO-LT) Tunnel project in Hong Kong, the company announced mid-January.
