You will be responsible for;

• Measuring the ground (including aspects such as small and large scale distances, angles, elevations
• Gathering data on the earth’s physical and man made properties
• Processing data
• Undertaking digital mapping
• Analyzing information thoroughly before it is handed over to other professional areas
• Thinking creatively to resolve practical planning and development problems
• Interpreting data using maps, charts and plans
• Utilizing data from a range of resources, such as aerial photography and laser beam measuring systems
• Be a link between design, monitoring and construction
• Using CAD and other IT software to interpret data and present information
• keeping up to date with new and emerging technologies
• Contribute to the achievement of Health and Safety in accordance with company policy

The successful candidate will have:

• Degree level in Land Surveying or Surveying and Mapping Sciences
• Previous experience as a surveyor in a tunnel environment
• Good knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
• Ability to perform assignments independently with supervision and guidance required only for overall objectives, critical issues and new concepts
• Good verbal communication skills
• Good knowledge of laser beams, theodolite and CAD
• The ability to work with initiative when outside influences affect planned operations
• Commercial and Contractual awareness
• Good knowledge of microsoft systems
• CSCS card
