As part of the Republic of Korea's Seoul-Busan high-speed rail project, contractor Tae-A Construction is tunnelling through a mountainous ridge to complete an important link on Phase 2 of the project. The 2020m-long, double-track Songseun Tunnel is one of two on this section, and will emerge in a spectacular fashion half-way up a valley side, to continue in an elevated section.
