Skanska has been awarded Norway's first public-private road project worth US$186M.

Skanska will design, build, finance and operate a 27km long stretch of the E39 motorway, which involves the construction of 10km of tunnels.

"We welcome the new procurement form which gives us the possibility to deploy our expertise in the entire process from design and construction to operation and maintenance," Petter Eiken, president of Selmer Skanska, said.

The client is the Norwegian National Road Administration (Statens Vegvesen).
