Network Rail to hold Transpennine market engagement

Network Rail is to hold a market engagement event for the supply chain for the Transpennine Route Upgrade, including tunnels.

The organisation wants to gather insights from suppliers to refine the W2BC procurement and packaging strategy for ES5-8 civils, stations and tunnels.

The W2BC project, which is currently in the engineering stage, covers the 29km between Stalybridge and Huddersfield. It includes full electrification, four new and modified stations, major civil engineering interventions within tunnels and on viaducts, and a new slab track throughout Stalybridge and Scout Tunnels.
