ITA Tunnelling Awards attract 53 entries
17 August 2023The ITA has received 53 entries from 15 countries for this year’s Tunnelling Awards.
This year marks the 9th edition of the ITA Tunnelling Awards, which will be held in Mumbai on November 24 following the Tunnelling Asia Conference from November 22-23. The banquet ceremony will take place at the Majestic Hotel ITC Maratha and is offered as a digital hybrid event for those who cannot attend in person.
The finalists will be announced in September and their pre-recorded presentations will be available on the digital platform before the conference.
This year’s awards feature eight categories:
- Major Project of the Year – over €500m
- Project of the Year – €50-500m
- Project of the Year including Renovation – up to €50m
- Technical Innovation of the Year
- Beyond Engineering
- Product/Equipment Innovation of the Year
- Innovative Underground Space Use
- Young Tunneller of the Year
Held since 2015, the international competition rewards remarkable achievements in tunnelling and the underground industry. The event showcases the most ambitious underground projects as well as the latest innovations, techniques, and methods in tunnelling.
The theme of this year’s Tunnelling Asia Conference is “Climate resilience and sustainability in tunnelling and underground space”. It is organised by the Tunnelling Association of India.
