Hudson River tunnel contract awarded
24 July 2013Tutor Perini has won a tunnelling contract worth USD 133M that will ensure future plans to construct a rail tunnel beneath the Hudson River can go ahead, the company announced recently.
Tutor Perini has been awarded a contract to construct an underground concrete casing beneath the Eastern Rail Yard of the Hudson Yards site in New York. The box tunnel will measure 250m long and 50m wide.
Construction is expected to begin in August 2013 and substantial completion is expected in late 2014.
