Harding Prize lecture in March
22 February 2024The three finalists for this year’s Harding Prize will present their papers at the British Tunnelling Society’s (BTS) March meeting.
The Harding Prize Lecture will be held at the Institution of Civil Engineers in London on March 21.
This year’s finalists are:
David Maddison: The design and construction of complex offshore structures. The Hinkley C tunnel to shaft connections
Christopher Hewett: The construction of large diameter shafts within challenging ground conditions
Sam Huckle: Tunnel d’Yvoir – When tunnelling becomes a passion project
The Harding Prize competition is named in honour of Sir Harold Harding, the founding chairman of the BTS. The competition is open to young engineers aged 33 or under.
An original paper submitted for the competition must address aspects of tunnelling of interest to the tunnelling industry, with the winning paper selected by a judging panel.
