Hagerbach Test Gallery celebration set for June

27 May 2021

Switzerland-based underground research facility Hagerbach Test Gallery (VSH) is to hold a special event on 18 June to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Using real, virtual and digital means, the event will focus on the expected development of VSH over the next 50 years (NXT50). The varied programme will include international contributions on current topics, such as the use of digital twins, the implementation of sustainable goals, and resource-saving solutions to future-proof social development. There will be guided tours of the Test Gallery as well as the availability of a networking lounge. And visitors will be able to see how 3D concrete printing can benefit tunnel construction.

A keynote speaker will be Reinhold Messner who will discuss ‘Driving the NXT 50 for a sustainable world’. Messner is a world-famous mountain climber, writer and photographer and was a member of the European Parliament from 1999 to 2004.

The day’s main programme will also include an exhibition, and presentations from longstanding VSH partners, including ACO, Sika, Implenia, Creabeton, Elkuch, Amberg and others.

Live streams direct from the tunnel, as well as digital recordings and live chats, are expected to make a varied and interesting programme. All speeches, round tables and presentations will be streamed live online. Government requirements regarding Covid safety will be followed on site.
