56km Sulakan tunnel contract awarded

A contract has been signed for the design, construction and commissioning of the 56km long Sulakan tunnel in Iran between contractor SELI and client the Rafsanjan Development Organisation.

The agreement is based upon a lump sum price of US$151M that will not be subject to any changes or escalation. A source said: "After detail design, even if the tunnel length is increased or decreased the price will be the same."

SELI has undertaken to complete the project within 54 months.
