In its first five years' expansion plan to improve the potable water supply, Aguas Argentinas committed itself to spending $540m. As part of this plan, a 15.3km water supply tunnel has been built with a loan from the Inter American Development Bank. The new tunnel extends the existing tunnel network from the Saavedra connection structure to Moron. Future expansion is planned to take place in the 30 year long concession period.
