Saftety double for MacDow

McConnell Dowell announced this month that it had steamed past a safety milestone. Work on the Beauty World Station and tunnels on Singapore’s Downtown Line Two passed the 2,000,000 man hours without lost time due to injury mark on 29 July.

A spokesman for McConnell Dowell said, “The accomplishment of this target is particularly significant given that the activities leading up to this milestone were especially complicated and of high risk.

“These included road diversions, continued piling operations, TBM delivery, and the lowering, assembly and strut removal from the shaft; all completed within very congested work site areas.”

McConnell Dowell also won the Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) Annual Safety Award Convention ASAC safety award on 29 July for the project.
