Perthus re-bid

5 June 2003

The deadline for tenders is scheduled for this month for the DBOT (design build operate transfer) Perthus rail tunnel contract between Perpignan in France and Figueras in Spain. It follows a re-bid due to a collapse in talks between the client and preferred bidder at the beginning of May.

A joint venture between Bouygues and Dragados had previously been selected to build the 8km long, twin-tube high-speed rail tunnel with a US$823M bid.
