Miss Emma tackles Big Walnut

TBM manufacturer Lovat presented the McNally / Kiewit jv with their new EPB machine "Miss Emma" at the end of June. The 4.25m diameter machine will bore 4km for the Big Walnut Outfall Augmentation Sewer (BWOAS) Phase II for the city of Columbus in Ohio, US. Expected geology is glacial till made up of clay, silt, sand, cobbles, gravel, boulders, outwash and fine sands.
