London's Bond Street station contract awarded

The last of the main construction contracts for London's new central section stations has been awarded, Crossrail has announced. In line with European procurement rules the contract for Bond Street station is subject to a ten-day standstill period, ending 11 February 2013.

Costain Skanska JV has been awarded the contract. The contract, C412, includes main construction, fit-out and M&E of the Western Ticket Hall (Davies Street) and Eastern Ticket Hall (Hanover Square).

Bond Street Crossrail station will be directly connected to the neighbouring Tube station allowing passengers to interchange between Crossrail and London Underground services.

"Crossrail has now awarded the final main construction contract for the new central section stations," said Andrew Wolstenholme, Crossrail chief executive. "Contracts worth over GBP 5bn (USD 7.8bn) have been awarded to-date, providing a much needed boost to the construction industry and the UK economy.
