Some 600 stuck in metro tunnel in Kolkata
26 June 2014Six hundred metro commuters were trapped on a train in a tunnel in Kolkata for nearly an hour, local press recently reported. Passengers were left stranded when one of the older rakes stalled between Park Street and Maidan stations stalled.
The commuters were left with the lights and fans switched off. Some commuters alleged that when they were trapped in the tunnel there was no information on what was happening.
Metro Railway has ordered an inquiry.
