North American industry gets ready for NAT 2022

The North American tunnelling industry is gearing up for its biennial conference in June. NAT 2022, the North American Tunneling Conference, will be held in Philadelphia from June 19-22.

This year’s event will feature around 140 exhibitors, a conference programme comprising 20 technical sessions, as well as short courses. It is expected to attract 1,000 attendees.

The technical sessions are built around four headings – case histories, design, planning and technology. The topics include TBM performances and challenges; tunnel lining; underground project delivery; construction innovation; design of underground spaces; rehabilitation/fire life safety; TBM technology; SEM/NATM excavation techniques; challenging design issues; underground project risk; future projects; numerical modelling and digital technology.

This year’s one-day short courses include Big Data in Tunneling, and Support of Excavation Design and Performance.
