Motts gets power plant design
29 March 2012Infrastructure engineering organisation MARG Ltd of Chennai, India, has awarded Mott MacDonald a design contract for the sea-water intake, outfall and circulation cooling system for a 2x250-MW lignite-fuelled thermal power plant at Padva in Bhavnagar, Gujarat.
MARG has until July 2013 to complete its work. The owner, the Bhavangar Energy Co Ltd (BECL) is developing the plant to meet increasing power demand from the large industrial facilities in the district. Mott MacDonald will undertake detailed engineering of the system including intake and offshore and onshore pipelines.
