Lingering Covid forces WTC2022 postponement to September

27 January 2022

Ongoing health concerns stemming from the pandemic have forced the WTC2022 Organising Committee and the ITA to push back WTC2022 from its current date in April to September (2-8) in Copenhagen.

Against the backdrop of a global health crisis, many industry professionals would have had difficulty committing to the event in April. This has prompted both the event’s Organising Committee and the ITA Executive Council to postpone the event, as was the case in 2021, to 2-8 September. The event will be held at Copenhagen’s Bella Congress Centre.

The expectation is that by September, the Covid-19 virus will be less virulent and therefore, will allow the tunnelling and underground construction community to finally meet and network in a healthy and convivial environment. The Organising Committee has stressed it will ensure that the conference follows any health regulations prevailing in Denmark at the time of the event.

ITA activities will also take place during the event, including the General Assembly and meetings of Working Groups and Committees.

For this and future events, WTC will take place in hybrid mode, i.e, both physical and digital. This should allow those who, for whatever reason, find attending the physical conference problematic to take advantage of all the content presented at the tunnel industry’s key annual event.

Registering for the event is open now at the conference webpage www.WTC2022.dk and, until April 25, allows the benefit of ‘early bird’ preferential rates.
