John Critchfield has joined Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB). The new senior project engineer brought 36 years of geotechnical and underground engineering experience to the PB Miami office. Critchfield will manage construction, engineering and inspection of the underground work on the Port of Miami Tunnel.

“In his new position, Critchfield will be responsible for managing construction engineering and inspection of underground works for the Port of Miami Tunnel project,” a PB spokesman said last Thursday. “Critchfield’s experience has a particular emphasis on tunnelling. He has knowledge of cut and cover, sequential and TBM excavation."

Critchfield was educated at the University of Illinois-Urbana and the University of Missouri Rolla. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Underground Construction Association.
