Mühlhäuser celebrates its 100th year in business this year. Understanding what the customer wants and delivering it is how Peter Mühlhäuser – who has recently celebrated his 70th birthday and is in his 41st year of managing the family business – describes the success of his company.
Mühlhäuser’s products includes muck cars, concrete and grout remixers, and other specialised units of rail-bound equipment, and the company has also established a rental fleet of more than 800 units of Mühlhäuser rolling stock.
The company has been involved in many of the world’s leading projects from the Channel Tunnel and the Storebaelt undersea rail projects to the Lesotho Highlands Water Project, Singapore’s DTSS sewer tunnel contracts and many of its metro tunnel contracts, and the current AlpTransit baseline rail tunnel contracts in Switzerland where more than 500 Mühlhäuser units are in action.
The company employs a workforce of more than 70 at its Michelstadt headquarters.
