Performance monitoring training course announced

A two-day field monitoring training course will be launched next month. The course, organised by University College London and Itmsoil is designed to provide practicing engineers with a sound understanding of monitoring in civil engineering.

The two day course takes place on 13 and 14 September and features a plethora of renowned speakers, including executive director of Canary Wharf Contractors Cliff Bryant; Arup associate Michael Devriendt; Tony Simmons of Geokon; Datum managing director Rory O'Rourke; Willis director John Alarcon; David Cook of Mott MacDonald and Arup associate director Ilka May.

The new course complements the book A Guide to Field Instrumentation in Geotechnics written by Dr Richard Bassett, Emeritus Reader in Geotechnics at UCL. The course will cost some GBP 395 (USD 612).
