MTR chair re-appointed during CEO search

Hong Kong – The MTR Corporation has announced that its chair has been re-appointed for a period of six months. Frederick Ma Si-hang will continue to serve in the position until 30 June 2019.

“I advised the Government some time ago that I would stay on for a limited period to undertake the important task of conducting a global search exercise to identify a new CEO for the Corporation,” said Ma.

“I must than the members of the Corporation’s Board of Directors for their relentless support during the past three years,” said Ma, “as well as all MTR staff for their efforts in successfully delivering three new railway lines, including the Kwun Tong Line Extension, the South Island Line, as well as the High Speed Rail service. Together, we also achieved the vision of establishing the MTR Academy, which nurtures aspiring professionals in the railway industry in Hong Kong and in the Belt and Road Region.
