BASF appoints VP to admixtures role for US and Canada

US --BASF announced December 4 Bruce Christensen, vice president, will take over the responsibility of the Admixture Systems business in the US and Canada, effective immediately. In his new position, he will operate from the regional business unit headquarters in Beachwood, Ohio. Christensen succeeds Juan Alfonso Garcia, who was named head of Construction Chemicals Latin America in October.

Christensen will be responsible for leading the entire Admixture Systems business operations with a focus on the ready-mixed, precast/prestressed, manufactured concrete products, and underground construction market sectors. Christensen has more than 25 years of industry experience, including several years within BASF’s Construction Chemicals division. He began his career as an Admixture Systems group technology manager and has held various regional and global roles in research and development, operations, marketing and communications throughout North America, Asia and Europe.

Christensen holds bachelor’s degrees in both chemical engineering and materials science and engineering from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Additionally, he has a Ph.D. in materials and engineering from Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill. where he studied portland cement chemistry and concrete technology.
