BAM gets two in one

23 August 2004

The $111M contract to build the Hubertustunnel in The Hague has been awarded to two companies from the BAM group, in joint venture with Van Hattum en Blankevoort. BAM Civiel and Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau's share amounts to $70M for the contract that will complete the last link in The Hague's northern ringroad.

The 1.6km long tunnel consists of two tubes, each containing a dual carriageway. Sheetpiling is expected to signal the start of construction in October and the project is scheduled for completion in mid 2008.
