Arup appoints US-based underground infrastructure leader

Engineering and professional services provider Arup has named Andreas Raedle as its new underground infrastructure leader for the Americas region. He will be based in San Francisco, US.

His objective will be to grow the company’s tunnelling and underground engineering operations in rail, water, aviation and science and industry sectors.

Raedle will move from Arup’s Singapore office where he has served as Tunnelling Leader South East Asia, and Australasia Tunnel Skills Leader.

His experience spans large-scale underground infrastructure and tunnelling projects, including the Changi T5 Interterminal Tunnels, Auckland’s Central Interceptor project, the Singapore Deep Tunnel Sewerage System, Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed rail, Tideway and Crossrail, London, to name a few.

He has experience of all tunnel types in all ground conditions, including mined and large-bore TBM, cut-and-cover and pipe jacking.
