Jacobs Engineering to buy CH2M

International – Jacobs and CH2M have entered into an agreement that will see Jacobs acquire all outstanding CH2M shares for a total value of USD 3.27bn. This amount includes around USD 416M in CH2M debt.

Canada - After almost six years of construction, Metro Vancouver's CAD 240M (USD 182.62M) Port Mann Water Supply Tunnel is now online, the authority said on February 20.

Court rules against Glendoe client

Great Britain – A court has issued its ruling on the Glendoe collapse, finding in favour of contractor Hochtief at the expense of client Scottish & Southern Energy (SSE). The decision was given on 21 December and denied SSE a GBP 130M (USD 160M in Jan 2017) damages claim against Hochtief. The contractor will however have to pay low availability damages of GBP 1M (USD 1.24M in Jan 2017) for not completing the remedial work.
