Compensation scheme for listed workers

London tunnel fit-out contract awarded

A tunnel fit-out job for the new rail tunnels under London has been awarded to a JV comprising Costain, French trackwork specialist TSO and Alstom Transport, Crossrail announced last week. The job to design and install track and tunnel equipment is the last major construction contract to be awarded.

Exeter undergraduate engineer wins research award

An undergraduate engineer at the University of Exeter, has won a regional structural engineering award for his research into using optical fibre sensing to monitor strain within sprayed concrete. Ben Ford, a Costain student, won the competition, the company stated.
