Tunnelling VPs appointed at WSP PB

Since its founding in 1885, WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff has been a leader in tunnel engineering, having designed and managed the construction of rail, highway and water tunnels worldwide, including signature underground projects in California such as the Bay Area Rapid Transit System and the Los Angeles Metro. Currently, the firm is at work on major rail tunneling projects in Los Angeles and San Francisco in addition to the California High-Speed Rail Project that will connect both cities.

Klein, who will be based in the firm's Sacramento office, has more than 35 years of experience in the planning, design and construction of tunnel projects throughout California and the U.S. He has led the design of tunnel projects with construction values ranging from USD 100M to more than USD 5bn including tunnels for water supply, wastewater, hydroelectric power, highways and mass transit and. Prior to joining WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, he was California regional manager for an international engineering firm, responsible for managing offices in San Francisco, Pasadena, San Diego and Walnut Creek.

Klein received an M.S. in geotechnical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. in geotechnical and structural engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society for Testing and Materials, American Water Works Association, and North American Society for Trenchless Technology. He is a registered professional engineer in California and four other states.

Dubnewych will be based in Los Angeles and will lead the company's Southern California tunneling practice and support projects globally, particularly those related to water conveyance. He has 28 years of tunneling experience, including work on tunnels for highways, transit, wastewater, water supply and hydroelectric generation. Prior to joining WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff, he was a principal in the Los Angeles office of an international engineering firm, responsible for managing design and construction activities for a variety of highway and water\wastewater conveyance tunnels in Southern California.

Dubnewych received a B.Sc. degree in mining engineering from Queen's University in Ontario, Canada. He is professionally affiliated with the Underground Construction Association of SME and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California.
