Roberts to manage tunnel projects at WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff

USA - Barrie Roberts has rejoined WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff, the organization announced May 26.

In his new position, based in New York City, Roberts will function as a design manager on major tunnelling infrastructure projects. He has more than 30 years of design and construction experience in the US and abroad, primarily in tunnelling and geotechnical-based contracts for transit, rail, highway, water, and wastewater projects.

He comes to WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff from a power generating company, where he served as construction manager. From February 2003 to August 2013, he was senior supervising engineer at Parsons Brinckerhoff, as geotechnical and tunnelling design lead on the No.7 Subway Line Extension and later as construction manager for the running tunnels on Phase 1 of the Second Avenue Subway project.

Roberts received an MSc degree in engineering geology from Imperial College of the University of London, and a BSc in mining from University College in Cardiff, UK.
