Mapping and monitoring companies merge

27 July 2018

Great Britain – Two laser mapping and monitoring companies have combined. UK-based 3D Laser Mapping and Geoslam announced the merger in late July. 3D Laser Mapping is geospatial technology supplier. It maps working environments. Geoslam produces hand-held mapping devices, used for confined or difficult to access spaces such as the underground, without the need for GPS.

Graham Hunter, the founder of 3D Laser Mapping explains, “[Both organisations] have very different skill sets with GeoSLAM specialising in global sales, marketing and distribution, whilst 3D Laser Mapping bringing R&D capabilities.”

David Burton, CFO of GeoSLAM commented, “We will continue working with our customers and dealers in the same way as we do now.’’

Shareholders agreed to merge the businesses to take advantage of new world market opportunities, increased R&D capability and ensure greater market reach. The newly merged companies will trade as Geoslam Ltd, as it is considered the stronger brand. The new Geoslam has offices located in the UK, USA, Netherlands, Australia and South Africa.
