SINGAPORE – A John Holland – Zhen Hua joint venture will construct Siglap Station on the Thomson – East Coast Line (TEL). The contract, T309, for the two level underground station was valued at SGD 176M (USD 128.8M).

Construction of the entire 43km TEL should complete in 2023.

Executive General Manager for Infrastructure, Jim Salmon, said the new contract is an exciting extension to John Holland's current work in Singapore. "We are currently working on two other contracts in the city, including on the T208 contract, which involves the construction of Springleaf Station and tunnels on the Thomson - East Coast Line," he said.

Regional General Manager for South East Asia, John Anderson, said John Holland is working to develop an increased presence in South East Asia. "We see exciting opportunities ahead in Singapore, and are proud to have recently opened a new John Holland office here," he said.

Zhen Hua is majority owned by CHEC, which is owned by China Communications Construction Company (CCCC). CCCC purchased John Holland last year.
