IPS Cranes has expanded into the underground railway market with the introduction of the IPS Metro Crane.

The Metro Crane is a railway track crane, which can be used for maintenance of underground rail systems.

IPS Metro’s engineering team based in Northern Minnesota and Germany designed the emission-free crane, which has the capacity to lift heavy loads while working inside the subway system.

IPS Metro crane has the ability to be driven and operated by existing power supply (catenary or third rail), or its self-propelled emission free system.

It can travel to speeds up to 80 km/h and has no counterweight, no set up time and no tail radius to disturb adjacent track when slewing.

The Metro Crane will be manufactured in Duluth, Minnesota.
