Colin Eddie, engineering director of Morgan Est Tunnelling Division, and Christian Neumann, senior project manager for Beton-und Monierbau, describe a new method for applying sprayed fibre-reinforced linings in soft ground. It was initially developed in response to calls for improved safety for workers at the face, but has ultimately resulted in a new automated approach to SCL tunnel construction
