GERMANY - BIS Bremerhavener has commissioned a joint venture of Ed. Züblin AG (technical leader/JV share 37 per cent), HOCHTIEF Solutions AG (commercial leader/JV share 33 per cent) and Züblin Spezialtiefbau GmbH (JV share 30 per cent), to build the Cherbourger Straße harbour tunnel in Bremerhaven, Germany, the companies announced on September 11.

The tunnel project is part of planning approval section 1.2 of the new railway route between Karlsruhe and Basel. The contract volume amounts to approximately EUR 312M (USD 417.6M).
