China’s Shenyang Wirth TBM Corporation has won contracts to supply TBMs for tunnel projects in Shanghai and Wuhan. The firm was recently formed by Shenyang Heavy Machinery Group in partnership with Germany’s Wirth Group and France’s NFM Technologies to produce TBMs in China. Shenyang Heavy Machinery, based in the northeastern province of Liaoning, has a 52% stake, while Wirth and NFM Technologies each have 24% of the new company. Shenyang Heavy Machinery chairman Wang Tiefeng confirmed the orders at a launch ceremony for the new company in early March.
