Miller Civil Engineering is employing ground freezing in an attempt to recover the TBM in the collapsed section of the 8.7km long, $91.4m Humbercare sewage tunnel in northern England. The cause of the collapse has yet to be determined.The 150m section of tunnel was flooded until a suitable method of recovery was established. The tunnel will now be pumped dry and it is hoped that the abandoned TBM can be recovered an refurbished.
