TAC instigates changes due to Covid-19
8 October 2020Covid-19 restrictions have compelled TAC – the Tunnelling Association of Canada – to rebrand this year’s postponed TAC conference as ‘TAC 2020-One Toronto’, to be held on October 19-21 2021. It also announced that its 2020 annual general meeting (AGM) will take place virtually on 6 November 2020 at 12.00 noon (Eastern Standard Time).
Postponing the TAC 2020 Toronto event will mean that the virtual AGM will be the vehicle for announcing the winners of TAC’s 2020 achievement awards and scholarship. It will also see the appointment of the 2021 Board of Directors.
The TAC Nominating Committee recommended that all current officer and director terms be extended by one year to mitigate the impacts of Covid-19 on association business and to ensure continuity is reflected in the organisation of TAC 2020-One Toronto. This proposal had previously gained majority support from members so will be included on the AGM agenda for ratification.
The annual TAC awards dinner has also been rescheduled for next year. Full details of the changes and the link to the meeting will be circulated later this month.
