San Francisco’s Central Subway reaches completion

USA - Salini Impregilo announced May 28, it has successfully completed - on time and on budget - the tunnel for Central Subway, a major project to extend a subway line that travels through the heart of San Francisco.

"This work is the latest example of the group's engineering experience and 'know how' that make Salini Impregilo a benchmark in the sector of complex public works throughout the world, even in countries with a developed infrastructure network like the United States," said Claudio Lautizi, general manager international operations.

Worth USD 1.6bn, and called the Third Street Light Rail Transit project, Salini Impregilo, its U.S. unit S.A. Healy and partner Barnard C.C.I. had a USD 241M contract for the 1.5-mile (2.4km) twin tunnels and five cross passages.
