Contractor on the Casecna project in the Philippines, Cooporativa Murarorie Cementisa (CMC), has abandoned TBM excavation in favour of drill+blast due to adverse ground conditions. The 23km long water transfer tunnel is now seven months behind schedule, with construction costs rising from $300m to $585m.
