UK construction company The Miller Group, which includes Miller Civil Engineering, has announced interim results for the first six months of 1999.

The company shows a 29% increase in operating profit to $10m, with profit before tax increasing 12% to $8.5m. Dividends per share showed an increase of 13% from 6.4 cents to 7.2 cents. Miller chief executive, Keith Miller, said, "Our business performance has again produced excellent results, which should underpin future continued growth and expansion."

Miller civil engineering is currently building the Hastings wastewater treatment scheme tunnel and the Hull stormwater tunnel, two of the biggest tunnelling contracts under way in the UK.
