Fort Wayne awards engineering and construction management contracts

US – Fort Wayne City Council approved USD 18.5M in engineering and construction management contracts for the Three Rivers Protection and Overflow Reduction Tunnel on April 4.

Contracts include, USD 5,476,600 to Black & Veatch for design services during construction; USD 7,772,078 to CH2M Hill, USD 2,915,210 to Aecom, USD 947,000 to 7NT, USD 222,800 to Aldea Services, USD 358,060 to Arcadis, USD 464,900 to DLZ Indiana, and USD 300,500 to iTunnel for contract management.

The CSO tunnel project includes a deep rock tunnel, drop shafts and consolidation sewers to collect and convey CSO from eight locations along the St. Mary and Maumee Rivers. Once completed, the CSO tunnel system will reduce 90 per cent of combined sewage overflows into the rivers, which occur during large rain storms.

Work is expected to begin in the spring of 2017 and be completed by mid-2021.
