The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and construction contractor Nishimatsu Construction and MBK Rail Link Construction have had a claim launched against them by UK property developer Chaplewood Estates. The claim, which could reach $2.9m, follows subsidence on a site where the company planned to build three houses and refurbish an existing one. It says a piled raft foundation is the only solution to allow construction to be carried out thereby. Chaplewood claims that the subsidence was a result of tunnelling beneath the area.
