In Australia, the RiverCity Motorway consortium has been announced as the successful bidder to build, own and operate the North-South Bypass Tunnel (NSBT) in Brisbane. The consortium includes Leighton Contractors, Baulderstone Hornibrook with Bilfinger Berger Concessions and ABN AMRO.
The 6.8km long scheme features 4.7km of tunnels. It is the first stage of the ambitious TransApex scheme planned for the city. Financial close for the NSBT negotiations is expected by August, with early works hoped to get underway by September.
