The Association of Consulting Engineers (ACE) in the UK has swept the boards at this years New Civil Engineer magazine Consultant of the Year Award. Seven ACE members won every available prize in all three categories including Ove Arup who won Major Firm of the Year.

Nicholas Bennet, ACE chief executive commented, "We are delighted by our members’ success for the second year in a row. The results of these awards underline the fact that ACE members provide quality work for clients. These latest successes will add weight to our efforts to help win our members business."

Following the election of Ken Livingstone as London Mayor, the Association has recently formed a special regional lobby group in an attempt to pressurise the London Assembly. This follows the government’s continual stalling on a decision to build Crossrail, a $4.5bn, 9km-long rail tunnel under London (Oct ’99) until a Mayor had been elected for the capital. ACE has always voiced support for such a tunnel.
